Dispatch Software for Taxi, Livery and Driver Pools — Own Your Riders, Drivers and Prices

The Challenge

Taxi and livery operators either run on radios and paper or hand their business to a rideshare marketplace that owns the rider, sets the price and takes the relationship. Dispatchn had to give operators marketplace-grade software while leaving them in control of their own riders, drivers and prices. That means three coordinated surfaces: a rider who books on the operator's own branded page with no app and guest checkout; a dispatcher who works a live board all day; and a driver who takes offers and runs the trip from a phone — with fares, payments and per-driver payouts reconciled on every ride, and a hard line that the software never becomes the transportation provider itself.

The Solution

Dispatchn is a Laravel platform built on the NOWAITN mesh. The dispatch board shows every job in three lanes — searching, assigned, in progress — and an auto-offer walks the on-shift driver pool ("offered to Maria, 2 of 5 tried") or the dispatcher assigns by hand and can switch mid-offer. Riders book on branded storefronts served on class subdomains (ride, exec, lux, limo, heli) with a fixed fare quoted off the real route and an SMS tracking link. Drivers self-onboard through a signed, expiring link, take offers in a phone portal, and message the rider without exchanging phone numbers. Live positions, routing and ETAs come from the mesh geo and dispatch spokes; payments run through Stripe Connect at a flat 7%, with automatic refunds when no driver takes the job. Like the rest of the mesh verticals, it stays fully functional with no platform key by falling back to local implementations of every capability.

Phase 1 4 days

Board & Trip Model

Built the live dispatch board (searching/assigned/in-progress), the trip lifecycle and the auto-offer that walks the on-shift driver pool.

Phase 2 4 days

Rider Storefronts

Branded booking pages on class subdomains with real-route fare quotes, guest checkout, SMS tracking and referral attribution.

Phase 3 3 days

Drivers & Payments

Driver roster, self-onboarding via signed links, phone portal with anonymized messaging, and Stripe Connect payments with per-ride payout splits.

Phase 4 3 days

Mesh, Maps & Launch

Wired the geo, dispatch, offers and HCM mesh spokes behind local fallbacks, added the live map, and deployed with the authed console verified post-deploy.

Results & Impact

A live dispatch board with an auto-offer that walks the on-shift driver pool, or manual assignment switchable mid-offer

Branded rider booking pages with fixed fares off the real route, guest checkout and no app to install

Drivers self-onboard by signed link and run trips from a phone portal, messaging riders without exchanging numbers

Stripe Connect payments at a flat 7%, per-ride payout splits, and automatic refunds when no driver takes the job

Consumes ~15 NOWAITN mesh spoke families for geo, routing, offers and HCM — and runs fully standalone with no key

Operators keep their own riders, drivers and prices; the software is never the transportation provider
