Building a Privacy-First Calculator Ecosystem That Scales to Millions
The Challenge
The client needed a comprehensive calculator platform that could compete with established financial tools — but with a fundamentally different philosophy. Rather than harvesting user data for advertising, every calculation had to run entirely client-side with zero data transmission. The platform needed to support 27+ calculators across financial, health, home improvement, and utility categories, each with complex mathematical models, while maintaining sub-100ms interaction times and scoring perfectly on Core Web Vitals.
The Solution
We architected a modular Laravel application with a Vue.js frontend where all computation happens in the browser. Each calculator is a self-contained module with its own mathematical engine, input validation, and result visualization — but they share a common design system and routing infrastructure. The server handles SEO-optimized page delivery, category management, and the content layer, while all calculations execute client-side using Web Workers to keep the UI thread responsive even during complex financial projections.
